The Group is one of the most established construction players in Singapore. Since its beginnings in the 1912, the Group has been the contractor to many Eastern Governments and municipalities for the construction of waterworks, sea reclamation, railways, roads, and dredging and mining plants. Some early undertakings included the Thomson Road Waterworks, Singapore; Ampang Waterworks, Selangor and locomotive boiler-shops and carriage shops of the Federated Malay States Railway, Kuala Lumpur.

In recent times, the Group continues to contribute to the Singapore urban landscape by building the University Cultural Centre, Raffles Town Club, Gallery Evason Hotel, Orchid Country Club, Nee Soon Camp, UE Print Media Hub and numerous condominiums, including Kovan Melody, The Calrose, The Paterson, The Light and Visioncrest Residence.

The Group is registered as an A1 contractor in the general building category and A2 main contractor in the civil engineering category under the Building & Control Authority registry in Singapore.
